Meet the Gardener
Hi - I'm Erin! I am a thirty-something professional with enough life experience that tells me that no matter where I am and what I do, I'd rather be in my garden with my family. I have worked for many years as an allied health professional. As someone who deeply values communication and connection with others, it is natural for me to make the leap to developing a blog to share my true joy of gardening.
My gardening and 'suburban homesteading' experience is coloured by the fact that I have two toddlers as I embark upon this blog. They are an integral part of nearly every waking moment of my day. I wouldn't trade being a parent for anything else in the world and I can't think of anything that makes me happier than having them join me in the garden. We grow and cook our homegrown food together, and we have fun while we're doing it! I invite you to share in my journey as I learn, grow, and marvel in the wonder of nature that surrounds us. I am spoiled by growing in a zone 8a climate, so I am outdoors nearly year-round. A lot of my gardening experience is from being hands-on and getting dirty. Above all, I remind myself that it won't grow if you don't plant it. My garden isn't perfect, and yours doesn't have to be either. It was a tangled, knotted mess of a garden when I got it, and I love it each and every day as it evolves. Now it's time to EAT, PLAY, DIG, and REPEAT! |
