🧤 Garden Tasks for May

There’s no shortage of to-dos this month! Here’s what to prioritize in the garden:

  • Harden off seedlings before transplanting them outdoors

  • Direct sow warm-season crops

  • Pinch back herbs for bushier growth

  • Mulch your beds to help retain moisture and suppress weeds

  • Add trellises and supports for peas, tomatoes, and climbing flowers

  • Keep an eye out for pests like aphids, flea beetles, and slugs

  • Feed your soil with compost or organic fertilizer

  • Start succession sowing greens every 2–3 weeks for continuous harvests

  • Most importantly—pause and enjoy the beauty you’ve created 🌼

🏡 Greenhouse Tasks

If you’re lucky enough to have a greenhouse, May is when things heat up (literally)! Keep these tasks in mind:

  • Open vents and doors daily to prevent overheating

  • Water early in the day to avoid fungal issues

  • Start warm-loving crops like melons and peppers

  • Monitor humidity levels and maintain good airflow
